Shelly Metzger
Shelly Metzger is a muralist whose lifelong passion for color drives her large- scale, site-specific artwork. Originally from the East Coast, Shelly's journey westward led her to settle in Washington State, where the often-grey skies sparked her desire to infuse more vibrant color into public spaces. While her love for color has always been present, it was the Pacific Northwest's muted environment that deepened her commitment to creating art that lifts the spirit and transforms spaces.
With over a decade of painting experience, including several years specializing in murals, Shelly has turned ordinary walls into meaningful landmarks. She believes that a wall should do more than just support a roof, it should reflect the character of the space, spark curiosity, and invite people to engage with their surroundings. Her work blends elements of nature, whimsy, and retro charm, encouraging a sense of wonder and connection that draws people back.
Shelly has collaborated with businesses, healthcare facilities, nonprofits, city programs, and private clients to create murals that are both visually striking and deeply meaningful. While based in Washington State, she loves traveling for projects that align with her vision and values.
